COHHIO invites you to join us for a full-day Racial Equity training. COHHIO, with the support of Ohio Mental Health & Addiction Services, has contracted with C4 Innovations (formerly Center for Social Innovation) to facilitate two full-day trainings to cover issues related to racism and homelessness. The institutes will serve as a first step for Ohio to begin addressing racial inequity in the homeless system.

The trainings will take place Tuesday, June 11 in Akron and Wednesday, June 12 in Dayton. This training is for homeless and housing professionals and anyone else interested in learning about the disparities that exist within the homelessness and housing system.

By accepting this invitation, you agree to share your experience and come with an open mind.

Important to know:

  • Due to limited space, we ask no more than two individuals per agency attend. If you want more individuals from your agency to attend, please email JoshJohnson@cohhio.org to add their names to a waitlist.
  • 6 Social Work Continuing Education Units will be available.
  • Lunch will be provided.

For more information please see this flyer.

There is limited space, so sign up today! (Register by clicking the city names above.)

VAWA: COHHIO will be conducting housing compliance trainings on the federal Violence Against Women Act throughout 2019. In just two and a half hours, housing providers can learn about the details of VAWA regulations, including their rights and obligations.

Come get your questions answered, and learn how to develop long-term strategies for continued VAWA compliance. If you or anyone in your office is interested in attending, please RSVP here. Feel free to reach out to MariaBruno@cohhio.org with any questions or concerns.

Ohio Votes: We’re gearing up for the 2019 general election (yes, there are elections in odd-number years!) Specifically, we will be continuing our new tradition of the People’s Power Party on National Voter Registration Day (Sept. 24). If you would like to serve as a host site, we will be celebrating voter engagement with some free food, voter education, registration opportunities, and absentee ballot assistance.

Sign up to host an Ohio Votes volunteer on Sept. 24 to celebrate National Voter Registration Day and help your folks get engaged! An Ohio Votes volunteer will facilitate the event for your residents or clients.

Are you an organizer looking to put on events and programming to engage voters? Join Ohio Votes for a Voter Organizer Training on July 23. RSVP here to reserve your spot now. We will also have a training for general voting volunteers on September 4. If you would like additional information about Ohio Votes, sign up for our email list or email MariaBruno@cohhio.org.
