COHHIO is pleased to announce the hiring of Statehouse veteran Gina Wilt to lead the nonprofit organization’s advocacy program after the retirement of long-time Advocacy Director Cathy Johnston.
Gina joins COHHIO after managing lobbying efforts with CRN Consulting, Ltd. for the Home Matters to Ohio campaign to expand the Ohio Housing Trust Fund in the state budget. Previously Wilt served nearly 12 years as senior legislative aide to Senate Finance Chairman Scott Oelslager (R-N. Canton). She also has experience working as a real estate agent.
“Gina brought a new level of energy to the campaign to expand the Housing Trust Fund and she takes to heart our mission to make sure everyone in Ohio has a safe, decent, affordable home,” said COHHIO Executive Director Bill Faith. “Gina will certainly amplify our efforts to speak up for the most vulnerable Ohioans.”
Gina graduated from The Ohio State University in 2000 with a dual bachelor’s degree in Journalism & Communications and Political Science. She also completed the Legislative Service Commission’s internship program.
“Over the years I have watched for years the great work COHHIO does at the Statehouse empowering low-income Ohioans and giving hope to people who find themselves in hopeless situations. I’m committed to this effort and now I’m thrilled to become part of the team,” Wilt said.
COHHIO also welcomes Dillon McCrea to the team. Dillon, our new administrative assistant, has been supporting the advocacy team with solid research, communications, development and logistical help.
