COHHIO, with the support from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, is offering a FREE cultural competency training. COHHIO is trained in Safe and Supported, which is adapted from the Moving the Margins curriculum, developed by Lambda Legal and the National Association of Social Workers for use in all youth-serving organizations.
The curriculum provides an introduction to the unique needs of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning, and interventions and community resources for LGBTQ youth, their families, other caregivers and service providers. The curriculum is delivered over 6 ½ hours as a full-day training.
Note: Attendees will be eligible for 6.5 Social Work CEUs.
The trainings will take place:
- Kent, Ohio on January 16
- Dayton, Ohio February 13
