Harm reduction refers to policies, programs and practices that aim to minimize the negative housing, health, and legal impacts associated with drug use and serious mental health conditions, by reducing the problematic effects of the client’s behaviors.
Assertive Engagement (AE) draws from various theories, approaches, and lenses such as Strength-Based Approaches, Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Empathy, Ambivalence, Unconditional-Positive Regard, amongst many other components. These initiatives aim to support and complement frameworks centered on racial equity, anti-oppression, and trauma-informed care.

Ohio BoSCoC: CE Evaluation Kick-off
Ohio BoSCoC: CE Evaluation Kick-off
March 28, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Background Information
In addition to requiring that all CoCs design and implement a coordinated entry (CE) system, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires that CoCs engage in regular evaluation of those systems to ensure they are operating as designed and operating effectively. In 2023, the Ohio BoSCoC Board has decided to contract with C4 Innovations to complete the evaluation of the CoC’s CE system.
Meeting Information
In this meeting, CoC members will hear from CoC staff and C4 Innovations about the plans for the forthcoming CE evaluation. This includes information about how providers will be asked to engage with the evaluation, the overall timeline for the evaluation, and how the results from the evaluation will be shared with the CoC.
