CoC Program: Supporting Housing Solutions

What Is the CoC Program?

The Continuum of Care (CoC) Program provides vital federal resources to communities across Ohio, helping to prevent and end homelessness. Through a collaborative application process, funding is awarded to support housing, services, and systems designed to help individuals and families move from homelessness to housing stability. These federal dollars support both new and renewal projects throughout the 80 counties of the Ohio Balance of State Continuum of Care (BoSCoC).
Permanent supportive housing and rapid re-housing programs
Coordinated entry and housing-focused case management
Infrastructure to support system planning, data collection, and evaluation

Annual CoC Program Competition

Each year, HUD allocates funding through the CoC Program Competition. Ohio BoSCoC agencies must participate in this process to apply for new or renewal project funds.

Overview

The annual CoC Competition is the formal process through which Continuums of Care apply for HUD CoC Program funding. COHHIO and ODOD lead this effort on behalf of the Ohio BoSCoC, managing application materials, project scoring and ranking, and final submission.
