Ohio Balance of State Continuum of Care FY2026 CoC Competition Training Announcement |
Purpose of this Message This message announces a training for Ohio Balance of State Continuum of Care (BoSCoC) members about the upcoming FY2026 CoC Program Competition. |
Target Audience Current CoC Program grantees and all Ohio BoSCoC members. |
Background Information The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides funding for homeless programs through its Continuum of Care (CoC) Program. The 80 counties within the Ohio BoSCoC access these funds by completing a consolidated CoC application; the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) and the Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio (COHHIO) submit the application on behalf of the Ohio BoSCoC. |
FY2026 CoC Program NOFO We anticipate that HUD will release the FY2026 CoC Program Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), which officially opens the CoC Program Competition, by June 1, 2026.
Based on multiple communications from HUD since fall 2025, the Ohio BoSCoC expects the FY2026 CoC Program NOFO to be nearly identical to the FY2025 CoC Program NOFO HUD released and subsequently rescinded in response to legal action. You can find information about that rescinded NOFO here - https://www.hud.gov/hud-partners/community-coc. |
Training Information In preparation for the FY2026 CoC Competition, this training will provide information about the Ohio BoSCoC’s plans for the CoC’s local competition process. This training will cover the following topics: · The renewal CoC project evaluation details and process · The preliminary Permanent Housing (PH) reallocation strategy and process · Eligible new project proposal types and the submission process and timeline
The Ohio BoSCoC FY2026 CoC Competition Guide and recorded training will be posted to https://cohhio.org/ohio-boscoc/coc-program/.
All current CoC funded grantees in the Ohio BoSCoC should attend or watch the recording, as well as any organization interested in submitting a new project proposal. |
