After years of advocacy at the federal level, the National Housing Trust Fund – the first dedicated national resource designed to support construction, preservation and rehabilitation of rental housing for very low-income Americans – has finally launched.
Ohio will receive about $3.7 million in National Housing Trust Fund resources for 2016 that will be distributed according to a state allocation plan developed by the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) and the Ohio Development Service Agency. COHHIO is working to ensure that this new resource is deeply targeted for expanding housing access for extremely low-income Ohioans.
